The Markgräflerland with its picturesque vineyards, mixed forests, fields and meadows offers opportunities for a great number and manifold activities in the open countryside. For hikers the Black Forest is the perfect area with good forest air, clean air and clear views as far as to the Swiss Alps. A great number of exciting hiking tours are waiting for you: On the “Markgräfler Wiiwegli” you walk along the west-facing slope of the Schliengener Berg until you reach the old mountain village Schliengen. Through the court of the first Markgräfler winegrowers’ cooperative you come to the educational wine trail on the west-facing slope of Himmelberg, you pass the Hurrberg via Auggen up to the viewpoint Luginsland at Müllheim. Guests also like tours around the Belchengipfel. The Belchen provides stunning panoramic views of the Black Forest, the Vosges mountains in Alsace and the Swiss Jura Mountains. By good visibility you can even see the majestic snow-covered summits of the Alps!
