Important places of interest:

Freiburg Minster

Freiburg Cathedral, which was one of the tallest buildings in the world in the 14th century, is now one of the most famous landmarks of the picturesque old town. With a height of up to 116 meters, the cathedral adorns the Freiburg cityscape and is also one of the most popular sights in the region.

Minster Square

Around Freiburg's cathedral, the "Münsterplatz" invites visitors to stroll around the market or take a break in one of the small cafés and stores. In addition to the city library, explorers will also find the Historical Mall, the "Wentzingerhaus" and the "Kornhaus" here.

Market Hall

In Freiburg's market hall, more than 20 market stalls with a rich offer of international as well as regional food and drinks, will spoil your palate. In addition to Italian and Chinese cuisine, you can of course also try traditional Baden dishes.

Schlossberg (Castle Hill)

High up is the "Schlossberg". Here you can get a bird's eye view of the beautiful old town, just like on the Freiburg Cathedral. The hilly mountain offers a unique view over the city to the Vosges Mountains.

Historical Mall

Another eye-catcher on "Münsterplatz" is the Historical Mall. With its red facade and unusual design, this building is also one of the most noteworthy sights.

Schwabentor + Martinstor

The "Schwaben" Gate and the "Martin" Gate are two of the original four city gates, which are still preserved. The Salt Road runs through the "Schwaben" Gate, and the Emperor Joseph Road runs through the "Martin" Gate. Both streets were once considered important trade routes and are of great historical importance.
